Health fair for women
The second annual Women Veteran's Health Fair at the Veterans Affairs Butler Medical Center, 325 New Castle Road, Butler, Pa., will be from 2 to 8 p.m. June 6. The program will include a welcome ceremony at 3 p.m., including presentations by women veterans who participated in the Women Veterans Biography Workshop; a picnic from 4 to 6:30 p.m.; and a breast cancer awareness program at 7 p.m. Also, there will be health information booths and sample health screenings and other health information available. Call Madge Miele at (724) 477-5067 to preregister by June 5.
Medical evaluations
The Butler Medical Center's mobile outreach team will provide free medical evaluations to all veterans from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 5 at VFW Post 252, Ellwood City; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 7 at Hickory VFW Post 6166, Hermitage.

PROMOTIONS
Maintenance officer
Capt. John Zastany was promoted to his current rank in the Texas Army National Guard where he is maintenance officer for the 4th Battalion, 112th Armor in Bryan, Texas. Zastany, son of Harold and Ann Zastany, Campbell, and a civilian engineer, is a store manager for Cingular Wireless in Houston, where he lives. He graduated in 1989 from Campbell Memorial High School and in 1993 from Youngstown State University, where he was commissioned.
Aviation machinist
Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Jessica Collins was promoted to her present rank while on deployment in the Persian Gulf aboard the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, where she is an aviation machinist assigned to Fighter Squadron VF32. She graduated from Campbell Memorial High School in 2000 and is a daughter of Joe and Theresa Collins of Campbell.
HONORS
Received award
Jean A. Barnhart, Grove City, a registered nurse with the Veterans Affairs Butler Medical Center, received the VA Secretary's Hands and Heart Award for 2001. She is a staff nurse in the medical center's home and community health-care program and manages a caseload of about 35 patients. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Carlow College, Pittsburgh, and has been with the VA for 16 years.
Top finish in course
Army Pvt. A.J. Booher, a graduate of Poland High School, received Meritorious Achievement and Gold Wings awards after finishing first out of 123 officers and enlisted personnel in an air assault training course. He also completed a heavy demolition course and is stationed at Fort Lewis, Wash., in the engineering battalion. He attended Youngstown State University and is a son of Allyn J. Booher, Havenwood Drive, Boardman, and Marlene Booher, Saginaw Drive, Poland.
