AKRON -- A honeymoon in Aruba followed the wedding of Tina Marie Simone, 250 Chatham Way, Mayfield Heights, and Gary Manning Thiel II, 3850 Wyndham Ridge Drive, Stow, that took place April 21 at St. Bernard Church.
The Rev. Paul Schindler presided at the noon ceremony, and a reception followed at Todaro's.
The bride is a daughter of Marlene F. Simone of the Mayfield Heights address and James M. Simone of Scarborough, Maine. Parents of the groom are Gary and Joanne Thiel, 445 Grandview Ave., Hubbard.
Beading adorned the spaghetti straps and bodice of the bride's sleeveless gown. It featured a full tulle skirt.
Michelle Madeline, the honor attendant, wore a navy gown, as did the bridesmaids, Colleen Simone, Kathleen Simone, Monica Ziegler, Christine Gillespie, Marlene Kijauskas, Lisa Plisko, Michele Crow and JoAnn Jerson.
Best man was John Thiel, and groomsmen were Paul Kenney, Pete Nardell, Dave Hetmanski, Tony Carano, Jeff Plisko, Doug Pazak, Heath Howard and Ian Lanning.
The bride graduated from the University of Akron and is employed in social services with Summit County Children Services Board.
The groom, a registered nurse in intensive care at Akron City Hospital, graduated from the University of Akron and Summa St. Thomas School of Nursing. He is pursuing a master's in nursing at UA.
They live at the groom's address.
