NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The 2001 football season for Westminster College marks the completion of a three-year transition period for the Titans from NCAA Division II to the Div. III Presidents' Athletic Conference.
This marks the final season the Titans will be ineligible for the PAC championship. In 2002, Westminster will be eligible for all league honors.
This season, Westminster will face a nine-game schedule that opens Sept. 8 at Walsh University in a contest with an unusual starting line -- 11 a.m.
Only four games will be played at Westminster; the remaining five are on the road.
Following the opener at Walsh, the Titans trek to Geneva for a clash Sept. 15. Westminster closes out the month of September with two home contests, playing host to West Liberty State College Sept. 22 and Washington & amp; Jefferson Sept. 29.
On Oct.r 6, the Titans travel to Bethany, then return home for engagements with Thiel Oct. 13, and Grove City Oct. 20.
Westminster then takes to the road to complete the season with Gannon Oct. 27, and Waynesburg Nov. 10.
The Titans will face all teams in the PAC this season including W & amp;J, Bethany, Thiel, Grove City and Waynesburg. The Titans' games against the PAC will not count in the conference standings.
Westminster is coached by second-year mentor Jerry Schmitt who guided the Titans to an 8-2 mark last season.
Sports camps: Westminster College promises to be a very busy place this summer with numerous sports camps taking place throughout the next several months. Registration and applications are now being accepted for the following camps: baseball, basketball, swimming, soccer and volleyball.
The Westminster Titan Baseball Camp will take place from June 11-14. The camp takes place daily from 9 a.m. to noon and is open to boys ages 8-18.

The Titan basketball camps are open to both boys and girls and take place over five weeks each summer, led by Titans men's basketball coach Jim Dafler and women's basketball coach Jan Reddiner.
Separate sessions are held for boys entering grades 5-12, girls entering grades 5-12 and team camps/shootouts.
Cost is $245 per week for a resident camper and $205 per week for a commuter, or $400 per team for shootout camp. Discounts are available for groups and siblings.

The swim camps take place over three weeks at the Westminster Natatorium for boys and girls ages 10 and up and are led by women's swim coach Rob Klamut.

The soccer camps take place over two weeks each summer for boys and girls, ages 5-18 and are led by Titans men's soccer coach Girish Thakar. Costs are $260 for resident campers age 10-18, $200 for campers 10-18 and $60 for the Little Titan Camp (ages 5-9, 4-6 p.m. daily) Contact Thaker at (724-946-7316).
