POLAND -- Monsignor William Connell officiated at 4 p.m. April 20 at Holy Family Church for the marriage of Melanie D'Andrea, 2470 Lake Tree Vista, Hubbard, and Dr. Steven Benedict, 12900 Lake Ave., Lakewood.
The daughter of Donald and Georgianna D'Andrea of the Hubbard address and the son of Stephen and Andrea Benedict, 7496 Huntington Drive, Boardman, were honored afterward during a reception held at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.
After a honeymoon in Jamaica they live at the groom's address.
Lace and pearls adorned the bride's tank-style gown. It featured a sweetheart neckline and a flounce at the hemline.
Black and white gowns were worn by Marla Dull and Lynaia Romeo, the honor attendants; Deanna Tringhese, Joanna Kraynak, Tamara Powers, Vanessa Rhorbaugh and Sharon Slivochka, bridesmaids; and Brittany D'Andrea and Pattee Kraynak, junior bridesmaids. Flower girl was Alexa Tringhese.
Joseph Benedict was best man, and groomsmen were Daniel D'Andrea, Scot Gherardi, Devin Fitzpatrick, Brendan Bauer and Todd Maley. John Kowachic was head usher, and ring bearers were Daniel D'Andrea and John D'Andrea.
The bride, a children's mental health therapist with Applewood Center in Cleveland, earned a master's degree at Youngstown State University. The groom earned a bachelor's at YSU and a medical degree at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. He is a neurologist with Cleveland Clinic Foundation, where is completing his residency and will begin fellowship training.
