YOUNGSTOWN -- Nuptial vows were exchanged at 2 p.m. April 21 in St. Patrick Church as Maura Jude Hassay and Joseph John Scott were united in marriage by the Rev. Edward Noga.
The daughter of Marguerite and Edward Hassay, 1318 Black Friar Lane, and the son of William and JoAnn Scott, 4013 Bob-O-Link Drive, were honored afterward during a reception at Mr. Anthony's in Boardman.
The couple, who have postponed their honeymoon until July, live in Canfield.
The bride's gown was fashioned in an off-the-shoulder mode and featured a full tulle skirt.
A pale-pink gown was worn by the honor attendant, Abigail Hassay, and periwinkle gowns were worn by the bridesmaids, Melissa Scott, Jaime Hessman, Kristen Colla, Ericka Geiss, Stephanie Gash and Stephanie Hall, and the junior bridesmaid, Cait Watson. Flower girl was Mariah Rast.
The duties of best man were shared by Bill Scott and John Scott, and serving as groomsmen were Jeff Patrone, John Delbane, Gino Colangelo, P.J. Guerierri and Matt Dobos. Ring bearer was Tyler Knowles.
The bride, a high-school teacher with Canfield Local Schools, graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology from Bowling Green State University and earned a comprehensive science teaching certificate at Youngstown State University.
The groom graduated from BGSU with a bachelor's degree in biology and earned a bachelor's in human biology and doctorate in chiropractic medicine at the National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, Ill.
