Hermitage police arrest 2 in 2 burglaries at same house
HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Police have arrested two men in two separate burglaries of a house at 36 W. Clark St.
Police said both suspects, Brian Matvey, 28, of Crawford Drive, and Calvin Winchell, 23, of South Irvine Avenue, Sharon, know the owner of the home.
Warrant: Matvey was arrested May 7 on a warrant charging him with the April 19 burglary of the house, in which a television set, VCR, stereo, shoes, credit cards and other items were taken.
He was jailed on $5,000 bond on charges of burglary, trespassing, receiving stolen property, theft, access device fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Winchell was arrested Friday on charges of burglary, trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property in a May 13 burglary at the house, in which money and videotapes were stolen.
Parole detainer: Winchell was also jailed on $5,00 bond as well as a parole detainer from a previous offense.
Jail officials couldn't be reached this morning to say whether the two men were still in custody.
