YOUNGSTOWN -- A Tri-County Young Artists' Expo will be a new component of the annual Youngstown State University Summer Festival of the Arts.
Art teachers from schools in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties will each select one piece of art for the exhibit. Those works, by pupils in grades kindergarten through 12, will be displayed in YSU Bliss Hall Gallery beginning July 7, which is the festival's opening day.
The exhibit will close July 27. Mahoning County Commissioners and Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber of Commerce are sponsors.

Theater camp
LISBON -- A summer youth theater camp by Stage Left Players will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, July 16-20 and 23-27, at David Anderson High School. The camp will culminate in three performances of "The Wizard of Oz" at 8 p.m. July 27-28 and at 2 p.m. July 29. The camp is for first- through eighth-graders. Cost is $200 and includes costumes, T-shirts, snacks and four tickets to the performance.
Auditions for speaking roles in "The Wizard of Oz" are at 2 p.m. today at the Outreach Center, 234 E. Lincoln Way. Children will be asked to sing a short musical selection of their choice. An accompanist will be provided.
