Snovaks mark golden jubilee at dinner party



YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Michael A. Snovak, 1936 Wakefield, were honored May 5 at a dinner party at Rachel's in Boardman in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts for the event were the couple's son and daughter-in-law, Michael Snovak and Angela Eaton-Snovak of Evergreen, Colo., and Mrs. Snovak's niece, Dorothy Flak of Boardman.
Mr. Snovak and the former Dorothy Wetek were married May 5, 1951, at St. Elizabeth Church in Campbell. He served with the U.S. Army Engineers in the Pacific during World War II and retired in 1988 after 23 year' employment as a maintenance pipefitter at General Motors Corp. in Lordstown. He is a member of the Western Reserve Fish and Game Association. He also served seven years as scoutmaster for Troop 11.
His wife is a homemaker and worked as a cashier at Loblaw's. She is a Democratic precinct committeewoman and member of the League of Women Voters.
The Snovaks are members of the 7th Ward Citizens Coalition and the Mahoning County Senior Center Woodcarvers.
