WP Motorsports has entry in ARCA event set Saturday

YOUNGSTOWN -- After three top-five finishes in its last three races in April and May, the WP Motorsports team, sponsored by Dynatek Telecommunications Services of Youngstown, is hoping for a win on the Automobile Racing Club of America circuit.
WP Motorsports will get that chance Saturday when its No. 22 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, owned by Stele Palac of Vienna and driven by Mike Swaim Jr. of High Point, N.C., competes in the ARCA Easy Care Vehicle Service Contracts 100 race at Lowe's Speedway in Charlotte, N.C.
The race, which will begin at 5:45 p.m., will be televised live by FOX FX (17/62) or Warner Cable 57.
Palac, a Howland High graduate, is the owner of Dynatek and also part-owner of WP Motorsports. Charles Woodfruff is another WP owner, and serves as vice president of operations for the team.
WP and Swaim are coming off a third-place finish at the Kentucky ARCA 150 last Saturday, after placing second at the Gateway ARCA 150 at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill., on May 5.
Before that, the WP team was fifth at the PFG Lester 150 at Nashville Speedway April 13.
WP is planning to advance to the Busch Grand National Series this summer, with an ultimate goal of climbing into the NASCAR Winston Cup circuit.
WP's Busch debut is Aug. 18 in Brooklyn, Mich.
