CONCERT Piano competition winners to present recital on Sunday
Winning selections will be reprised during a public performance.
YOUNGSTOWN -- An awards recital will be presented at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Bliss Hall at the Youngstown State University by the winners of the May 12 Youngstown Music Teachers Association and YSU Masters Piano Competition.
Performing their winning solo selections will be the following:
UPre-A Division -- Kristi Yazvac, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Yazvac of Boardman, and Daniel Catello, a son of Wayne and Diane Catello of Austintown.
UA Division -- Sammy Borzi, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Borzi of Canfield; Danny Janovick, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Janovick of Boardman; and Alyssa Tom, a daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Yuel D. Tom of Poland,
UB Division -- Timmy Lee, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Lee of Howland; Gene Huang, a son of Dr. and Mrs. Peter Huang of Liberty; and Katie Yazvac, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Yazvac of Boardman.
UC Division: Megan Miller, a daughter of Mrs. Sue Miller of Boardman; Karla Fedina, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Fedina of Boardman; and Stephanie Golubic, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Golubic of Boardman.
UD Division: Elizabeth Fitori, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Fitori of Boardman, who will give a concerto performance.
In addition to giving the public performance, each winner of the competition receives a $50 bond.
Their teachers are Helen Cline, Lisa Czifra, Fanny DiDomenico and Diane Yazvac.
Sister Germaine is president of YMTA ,and Dr. Larry Harris is chairman of the event.
