BUTLER, Pa. -- A car show benefiting Lifesteps Family Caring Fund is planned for 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. June 3 at Lowe's parking lot at Moraine Point Plaza on New Castle Road. Attractions include antique cars and events such as children's face painting, door prizes, free child fingerprinting and photos by Baltimore Life and more. People interested in preregistering for $7 can call Joe Smith Sr. at (724) 287-4355. Registration at the event will cost $10. Dash plates will be awarded to the first 100 people who enter. Lifesteps Family Caring Fund provides direct services to area families with special needs. The car show is sponsored by Lowes, Benke Auto Group and the Chicora Moose club.
Tea party plannedat McKinley library
NILES -- The McKinley Memorial Library will present "Ida's Tea Party" from 1 to 3 p.m. June 9, marking the birth of First Lady Ida McKinley.
This is the second presentation of the show, which will be in the library auditorium. Mary Jane Queen will portray McKinley and Janey Davis will portray Edith Roosevelt. Both women are from the Canton area.
Refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required and may be made by calling the library at (330) 652-1704 by May 31.
