TRUMBULL COUNTY Area pupils can apply for arts program
LORDSTOWN -- A creative and performing arts program is taking applications for pupils entering grades 5-8 in Trumbull County schools.
An informational meeting for parents will be at 6 p.m. May 30 at Lordstown Middle School for those interested in Arts/EXCEL, run by Trumbull County Educational Service Center.
The meeting will be in the school's auditorium at the corner of state Route 45 and Salt Springs Road.
The program provides pupils in grades 5-10 with an opportunity to develop their academic and artistic talents through programs in art, dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music.
Pupils spend 21 Fridays during the school year interacting with professional instructors. If accepted, pupils select an area of study in one program.
They will be selected after auditions and interviews being held June 11 and 12 at the middle school.
