Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beene celebrate golden anniversary at reception

YOUNGSTOWN -- Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Beene of 647 W. Heights Ave. were honored April 21 at a reception at the Croatian Home in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Hosts were the couple's children and their spouses, Sherene and Donald Mackos of Cincinnati and Karen and Thomas Bata of Hubbard, and Mrs. Beene's sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lu and Steve Blasko of Youngstown. Five grandchildren complete their family.
Mr. Beene and the former Geraldine Cervello were married April 21, 1951, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He retired in 1994 from General Motors Corp. in Lordstown after 30 years as a coordinator in the final process department.
Mrs. Beene, a homemaker, is a member of the Semper Amicus Club and the Altar and Rosary Society at St. Brendan Church.
The couple will also celebrate their anniversary with a vacation to Hawaii later this year.
