HONORS
Dubos lauded
John J. Dubos, son of John M. and Rosemary Dubos of Boardman, finished first for his research on "Polymerization Shrinkage Stress Generated from Composites (plastic fillings) of Different Resin Formulations," which was presented to the Post College Assembly, a Columbus-area professional meeting sponsored by the dental college of the Ohio State University.
His work was evaluated by a faculty panel. He also presented his work at the American Association of Dental Research meeting in Chicago and will give a presentation at the annual American Dental Association meeting, which will be in St. Louis.
A 1992 graduate of Boardman High School, he graduated magna cum laude in 1997 from Youngstown State University with an engineering degree in materials science.
He is completing his third year of dental school at the Ohio State University.
Dubos is married to the former Lisa Webb of East Palestine, a graduate of YSU and OSU College of Dentistry.
She is a practicing dentist in Circleville, Ohio, and they live in Columbus.
LAWYERS
Dolby passes bar exam
Jeanie Dolby, a 1991 Boardman High School graduate, has completed the Florida Bar Exam.
She completed her undergraduate studies at Bowling Green State University and Youngstown State University, graduating in 1996 with a political science degree.
She was accepted to Stetson Law School, St. Petersburg, Fla., and graduated in December 2000 with her law degree. She also earned a trial advocacy award while in law school.
Dolby, who also lived in Canfield, is employed as a family law attorney with the law firm of Catherine W. Real P.A. of Tampa, Fla. She also lives in Tampa.
SCOUTS
Cub Scouts advance
Seven Webelos Cub Scouts received their Arrow of Light Award, Cub Scouting's highest honor, and crossed over to join Boy Scout Troop 101 of Struthers.
The ceremony was at the fellowship hall of Struthers Presbyterian Church.
The honorees are Chuck Burchfield, Matt Crnarich, Andrew Burke, John Balogh, Charlie Spurr, Sean O'Brien and Christian Wormley.
Also crossing over from cubmaster to scoutmaster was Jeff Wormley.
