REGULAR SEASON BASEBALL Ursuline edges South Range, 7-6



The Irish scored the winning run on Steve Stroney's single in the seventh.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Ursuline High baseball team, which scored five runs in the fourth inning, got the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat South Range 7-6 Thursday.
Erin Satterlee reached base on an error and John Angelo singled. Both moved up a base on a sacrifice and Satterlee scored on a single by Steve Stroney.
Josh Conkey, who came on in relief in the fourth inning, picked up the win.
Angelo and Stroney each had two hits for the Irish.
McDonald 3-2, Lowellville 2-5: LOWELLVILLE -- After winning a suspended game, McDonald (3-13) lost to Lowellville to end its season.
The suspended game went nine innings, with Josh Camuso scoring the deciding run on a double by Dave Haselow.
In the second contest, the Rockets snapped a 2-2 tie as they scored a run in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh.
Don Packner scattered four hits to pick up the win.
West Branch 10, Minerva 5: BELOIT -- Don Close drove in three runs and Gary Weizenecker got the mound win as West Branch defeated Minerva.
James Crutchley and Mike Ingledue each drove in two runs for the Warriors (16-9, 8-6 Northeastern Buckeye Conference), with Ingledue tripling.
On Wednesday, West Branch lost to Louisville 6-2. Drew Romigh had two hits for the Warriors.
Youngstown Christian 12, Portersville Christian 5: PORTERSVILLE, Pa. -- Themi Tsarnas went 4-for-5, including three singles and a double, to lead Youngstown Christian over Portersville in the season finale.
Eric Bader added a double and single for Youngstown Christian (11-2-1), while pitcher Matt Byrdy, with nine strikeouts, earned the victory.
Badger 9, Brookfield 5: BROOKFIELD -- Joe Coleman and Josh Upshire had two hits, including doubles, for Badger.
Brookfield's Julian Hayes, Scott Stofan and Todd Jones all singled twice. Drew Fisher doubled and singled.
