Tax break sought for plant growth
THE VINDICATOR, YOUNGSTOWN
HUBBARD -- Warren Fabricating is seeking a tax abatement on a proposed expansion of its Hubbard plant, which makes mining, power generating and steel mill equipment.
The Warren-based company would like to add a $2 million building with $9 million worth of machinery to its Chestnut Ridge plant. The addition would hold $8 million in new inventory, according to plans filed with the Trumbull County Planning Commission.
The expansion would create 60 jobs. The plant now employs close to 200, said Paul Theisler, company controller.
The company is seeking a 60 percent break on local and county taxes on the building and inventory expansion.
The request will be considered Monday by Hubbard Township trustees and May 16 by county commissioners.
