Babe Ruth (13s)
Astro Falcons 12, East Side Kiwanis 6: Matt Ruble hit a triple, while Jimmy Pasquine and Brad Sfara had doubles as the winners rallied from an early four-run deficit.
Youngstown Express 13-10, Steubenville Motif 3-3: In the first game, Brent Dutton and Patrick Holland combined on the pitching win, allowing four hits. Michael Rose and Josh Crum both had two hits, including doubles. Jared Bartholomew was the winner in the second game, with relief help from Matt Bable. Manoli Pahoulis had two hits, including a triple, and Crum singled twice.
Pony League (13-14s)
Boardman GF Insulation 13, Poland Tangier 3: Nate Talsik went 2-for-4 with two doubles, while Cameron Cimino went 2-for-3.
Campbell 16, Austintown Quaker 4: Matt Stankich had 12 strikeouts in five innings and two hits, while Craig DiRienzo and Louis Samonas had three hits apiece.
Campbell West & amp; Barker 11, Lowellville Falcon Foundry 1: Trey Soares pitched a no-hitter with 14 strikeouts. Soares and Jim Gotch also had two hits.
Canfield Anthem Blue Cross 9, Boardman Bill's Place 1: Joe Rosko pitched a one-hitter and had two hits, including a home run, for Anthem. Jim Gromada, Kyle Banna and Kyle Schuchler added two hits for the winners. Jonathon Kocin had the lone hit for Bill's Place.
Poland Caspary Realty 8, Canfield Electric Device 4: Winning pitcher John Hang homered and had two RBIs, John Petro homered and had two singles, Tom Clayton and Mike Cleland also homered and Jim Koslow had two doubles. For Electric Device, Jake Mosure had a home run, Chad Gifford had two doubles, Mike Hudoba had an RBI and Luke Stebner scored twice.
Struthers St. Anthony's 8, Canfield L. Calvin Jones 5: Skylar Slavik hit a home run and Ryan Spatholt went 3-for-4, while Adam Wilaj pitched three shutout innings to end the game. For L. Calvin Jones, Larry Lynn homered.
SOFTBALL
Valley Sting 12U: won all six of its game to take the Lady Spartan tournament in Poland. The Sting beat the Jaguars "A" 12-0, the Thunderbolts 11-2, Jaguars "B" 11-0, Beaver County Hornets 1-0, IIY Storm 6-2 and the Ohio Ice Orange 5-4. Darlene Bott singled home the winning run in the last of the seventh of the title game.
