Boardman Spartans sail into Div. I district tournament

BOARDMAN -- Gina Rango went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, a single and four RBIs, as Boardman High defeated Warren Harding 11-5 in a Division I sectional softball tournament game Monday.
The top-seeded Spartans (19-3) have won eight in a row and will play host to a Cleveland-area sectional champion next Monday at the Field of Dreams.
Boardman's Jennifer Feret had four singles and two RBIs, while Mary McCabe had a double, two singles and two RBIs. Audrey Martinko tacked on two singles and two RBIs for the Spartans.
For Warren Harding (6-15), Stacy Wilden had a single and a double, while Lindsay Romack and Jenna Bagatlia each had two singles.
Kent Roosevelt 2, Fitch 0: AUSTINTOWN -- Roosevelt (17-4) scored two runs in the top of the 11th inning to eliminate the Falcons (13-9).
