Tournament raisesfunds for organization
The Western Reserve Walleye Association recently sponsored a charity walleye tournament at Mosquito Creek State Park and raised $992 for the Northeast Ohio Adoption Services organization. The group helps place children in permanent homes.
Spring walleye fishingwell underway on Erie
SANDUSKY -- Spring walleye fishing on Ohio's big lake is off and running, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife. Lake Erie charter captains and private boat anglers have been reporting many limit catches when wind and wave conditions are right.

PLAY for free
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's club for youth, the Pennsylvania League of Angling Youth is making membership free.
PLAY members receive a quarterly newsletter providing age-appropriate information on fish, fishing, conservation and safety for children aged 8 to 12. Each colorful issue includes easy-to-read articles, safety tips, illustrations and games that make learning about Pennsylvania's waterways enjoyable. Recent issues have offered features such as fish identification, knot-tying tips, and life jacket use.
For PLAY membership for youth between 8 and 12, an adult 18 or older can send a signed request to PLAY, c/o Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, P.O. Box 67000, Harrisburg, Pa. 17106-7000.
Be sure to include the youngster's name, age and mailing address .
