One alumna of Easy Street Productions who won't perform in "Easy Street Goes Hollywood" is Molly Morris, 22, of Austintown. The Ursuline High School graduate is one of six featured dancers in "Jump, Shout & amp; Boogie!" at American Music Theatre in Lancaster, Pa. The show runs through September. Morris also appeared with Ballet Western Reserve, Youngstown Playhouse and Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera.
Actors wanted
YOUNGSTOWN -- Oakland Center for the Arts seeks two men to play the title characters in its upcoming production of "Blood Brothers." Other men of all ages are also needed to round out the cast. Call the Oakland at (330) 746-0404 for details. "Blood Brothers" runs June 7 through 24.
Seraphim theme
POLAND -- "Music of the Night" will be the theme of Seraphim's next choral concert, at 7 p.m. May 20 in Holy Family Church, 2729 Center Rd. The group will perform "Serenade to Music" by R. Vaughan Williams and "All I Ask of You" by Andrew Lloyd Webber, among other selections. Soloists will be Tim Anderson, singing Lloyd Webber's "Music of the Night"; Jason May on Vivaldi's Concerto in G minor for Flute; and vocalist Corinne Morini. The chamber orchestra will perform Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nacht Music." Jon Simsic directs the group. A free will offering will be taken.
Vintage games
AKRON -- The vintage base ball season begins today at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, 714 N. Portage Path. The Akron Black Stockings will play a doubleheader against Sycamore Grasshoppers, beginning at 1 p.m. Admission is $4 for adults, $2 for children. Call (330) 315-3247 for more information.
Back in the 1860s -- the era from which vintage ball rules are derived -- men wore long-sleeved white shirts, knickers, stockings, caps and bow ties to play base ball (which was still two words). The handmade base balls were larger and slightly softer than today's version. Fines for "ungentlemanly behavior" were 25 cents a week.
