EDWARD J. CLEARY, 77
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at McVean & amp; Hughes Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. in St. Edward Church for Edward J. Cleary, 77, of 2453 Fifth Ave., who died Friday in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Cleary, known as Ted, was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Youngstown, a son of Edward J. and Florence Garde Cleary.
A 1943 Ursuline High School graduate, he attended John Carroll University in Cleveland. He graduated from Youngstown University with a degree in business administration in 1950.
He worked 25 years as a traffic manager for A & amp;P Co. and 12 years as a toll collector for the Ohio Turnpike Commission before retiring in 1989.
A member of the church, he was a World War II Navy veteran. He was also a member of the YSU Alumni Association and the Jewish Community Center.
He leaves five sisters: a twin, Ann Joyce of Liberty; Joan, Mary and Florence Cleary, all at home; and Jane Bernard of Girard.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the church or the Ursuline High School Scholarship Fund, 750 Wick Ave., Youngstown 44505.
