DUDLEY D. TAYLOR, 59
SALEM -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church for Dudley D. Taylor, 59, of 1150 Fairview Ave., who died Friday at Salem Community Hospital of a heart attack.
Mr. Taylor was born April 5, 1942, in Canton, a son of Dudley D. Sr. and Ann Vasi Taylor.
He was a fireman 30 years with Salem Fire Department. After retiring as a lieutenant there, he became a city housing inspector in 1999.
He was a member of the church. He graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1960 and served in the Army from 1963 to1966.
Besides his wife, the former Jacqueline Gilbert Strait, whom he married June 30, 1973, he leaves his mother of Salem; a son, William Strait of Salem; a daughter, Sheri Lucas of Toronto, Canada; a sister, June Ann Ovington of Centerville; a brother, Gregory of Carbondale, Ill.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at Stark Memorial Funeral Home, Salem. A prayer service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m.
