Deliberations to begin
YOUNGSTOWN -- Testimony ended Friday afternoon in the Mahoning County Common Pleas Court trial of Tommy Williams, 22, of Meadow Street, who is charged with murder. Judge R. Scott Krichbaum dismissed jurors for the weekend, and they will begin deliberations Monday morning.
Authorities say Williams shot 22-year-old Michael P. Booker of West Rockwell Road, Austintown, during a fight in the parking lot of Pal Joey's Lounge on Midlothian Boulevard last April.
Prosecutors say Williams shot Booker because Booker was beating up Williams' friend. Williams testified Friday that he did not pull the trigger and does not know who did. He said he did not have a gun.
Witnesses testified during the trial, though, that they saw Williams put a gun to Booker's ribs and shoot him.
