REV. LOUIS SAULSBERRY SR., 79 Was a pastor at area Baptist churches
CAMPBELL -- Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Faith Temple Baptist Church for the Rev. Louis Saulsberry Sr., 79, of 85 Gordon Ave., who died Monday morning in Forum Health Northside Medical Center after a long illness.
The Rev. Mr. Saulsberry was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Mobile, Ala., a son of Ulysses and Pauline Wilson Saulsberry, and came here many years ago.
He was assistant pastor of Faith Temple Baptist Church and retired as pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Sharon. He also worked for the Campbell waste treatment plant for 26 years before retiring in 1988.
He was a member of many religious organizations in the community, including Eastern Ohio Baptist Association, and was chaplain of the local American Legion. He was a World War II Army veteran.
His wife, the former Jessie Mae Walker, whom he married June 16, 1941, died Feb. 6, 1995.
He leaves four sons, Louis Jr. of Boardman, Danny L. and Victor H., both of Campbell, and Lionel of Youngstown; a foster son, James Carwell of Campbell; a sister, Marcella Brown of Mobile; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from noon to 4 p.m. today at Howard Funeral Home and from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Faith Temple Baptist Church.
