DONALD ARTHUR RIDDLE, 79



HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Services will be at noon Saturday at McGonigle Funeral Home, Sharon, for Donald Arthur Riddle, 79, of 11 Hermitage Hills Blvd., who died Thursday morning in Sharon Regional Health System's hospital.
Mr. Riddle was born Feb. 19, 1922, in Slippery Rock, a son of James D. and Maude A. Heasley Riddle.
He worked for Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric for 42 years, retiring in February 1982 in management. He also worked at Tam-O-Shanter Golf Course and made, regripped and refinished golf clubs.
He was a member of Benevolent Protective Order of Elks Sharon Lodge 103, Hickory VFW Post 6166, United Commercial Travelers, American Legion Post 299 and was a former coach of UCT in the American League Division of Hermitage Little League. He was a decorated World War II Army Air Forces veteran.
A graduate of Slippery Rock High School, he attended Penn State University, Shenango Valley Campus.
Besides his wife, the former Mariellen Wilds, whom he married June 12, 1948, he leaves two daughters, Nancy L. Weaver of Washington, Pa., and Karen S. Barno of Tempe, Ariz.; a son, James D. of Hermitage; a sister, Betty Imbrie of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren.
A sister, Jayne Hullihan, and a brother, Clyde, are deceased.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the service time. Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 19 Jefferson Ave., Sharon, or American Heart Association, 3168 E. State St., Hermitage.
