Candle started fire
BERLIN CENTER -- A burning, decorative candle left unattended is being blamed for starting a fire that killed a 49-year-old woman at her Heiser Road home.
Assistant Berlin Township Fire Chief John Morris said the candle was atop a record player and when it burned down, it ignited the player's plastic cover.
The fire killed Helene Albright Helsel. Her husband, Donald, 44, is in fair condition at Akron Burn Unit.
