BENJAMIN A. WILLIAMS, 81 Taught in Poland, Western Reserve districts



POLAND -- Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home here and at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church for Benjamin A. Williams, 81, of 7625 North Lima Road, who died Wednesday afternoon in St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Mr. Williams was born March 27, 1920, in Brady's Bend, Pa., a son of Jay and Margaret Zeitler Williams, and came to the area as an infant.
He taught sixth grade in Poland and Western Reserve School systems for 35 years and retired in 1981. He was a Civil Defense Auxiliary Policeman for Mahoning County after his retirement.
He was a member and usher of the church and a member of its senior citizens. He was a member of the National Education Association and was a volunteer for St. Elizabeth Health Center dialysis department.
His wife, the former Josephine A. Damiano, whom he married July 29, 1944, died April 3, 1999.
He leaves a daughter, Margaret S. Skripac of Canfield; a son, John V. of Poland; and four grandchildren.
A brother, Robert L., is deceased.
