Riding a donkey is not easy. Riding a donkey and playing basketball is even more difficult, as these Struthers folks prove. It was the Struthers teachers against police and fire department personnel Wednesday night in Struthers Fieldhouse. Teacher Ron Conklin, above, found out quickly that his "teammate" was not going to be a team player. At right, teacher Ron Iarussi is followed by Pat Barthen of Marengo, Ohio, owner of Buckeye Donkey Ball and whose job it is to make the donkeys go faster. Below, Kevin McCliment of the police department hogs the ball in an unsuccessful attempt to keep the faculty from winning. Wednesday's real March "madness" was a means to raise money for a variety of school organizations. At last report, all the participants had survived, although a little worse for wear.
