Store, center get go-ahead



HERMITAGE, Pa. -- City commissioners approved plans Wednesday clearing the way for a retail store project on East State Street and a senior citizens center on Buhl Farm Drive.
Byzantine Inc. of Bridgewater, Pa., wants to build a Dollar Tree store in the 2000 block of East State Street adjacent to a new Taco Bell restaurant being built just west of Buhl Farm Drive.
Commissioners approved a land development plan that shows construction of a 13,077-square-foot retail building to house a Dollar Tree store and three smaller shops.
Mercer County Area Agency on Aging wants to expand a building it has bought from the Bill Rudge Ministries of Living Truth Inc. at 220 N. Buhl Farm Drive.
Commissioners approved a subdivision of the Rudge property to give the agency an additional 0.4 of an acre for the expansion and to add parking facilities.
Commissioners then approved a land development plan that outlines an 8,834-square-foot addition to the 6,500-square-foot building the agency bought from Rudge.
