JOHN J. DUCAY, 78
YOUNGSTOWN -- Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Fabrizio Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, for John J. Ducay, 78, of 1918 Meadowbrook Ave., who died late Tuesday at home.
Mr. Ducay, who was known as "Duke," was born May 23, 1922, in Youngstown, a son of Joseph and Susana Belak Ducay, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was self-employed carpenter, working for local contractors and developers. He was a member of the church, where he was an adult Mass server, and was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater.
Besides his wife, the former Grace Deramo, whom he married July 26, 1947, he leaves a son, Earl of Poland; a daughter, JoAnn Schulick of Youngstown; and four grandchildren.
Three brothers, Joseph, Emery and Frank, and two sisters, Betty Bretz and Helen Madved, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
