Two Noko shows
YOUNGSTOWN -- Local singer-actress Barbara Noko will sing jazz ballads, pop standards and show tunes in two upcoming concerts.
Noko and two other local performers will provide a diverse evening of entertainment at 8 p.m. April 14 at Youngstown Playhouse, off Glenwood Avenue.
Besides Noko, Tracie Prisby will sing hip-hop and modern music, and Eugene Haywood will perform blues songs. They will be backed by Bass-ic Band. Tickets are $16.
Noko will be accompanied by Cliff Barnes when she sings May 4 in the social hall at Youngstown Club, 201 E. Commerce St.

Vocal awards
COLUMBUS -- Vocal Arts Resource Network is accepting nominations through May 10 for its second annual Ovation Leadership Award. Winners in five categories -- media, education, production, corporate or individual donors and individual artist -- are chosen for fostering love of vocal music. Watercolor entries
COLUMBUS -- Ohio Watercolor Society will accept entries through May 25 for its 24th annual juried exhibition, which will be displayed Oct. 7 to Nov. 11 at Columbus Cultural Arts Center. Ohio artists ages 18 and older who work in any water-based media may submit their work. More than $9,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded.
