Eminem's a real dollin the eyes of some
NEW YORK -- It's not the real Slim Shady -- it's an action figure that looks just like him.
A series of three Eminem dolls will hit stores in July, said Carlos Espada, spokesman for Art Asylum, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based company that's designing the toys.
One is a low-key version of the rapper as Marshall Mathers -- his real name -- dressed in a puffy white jacket.
A second doll depicts Mathers as his alter ego, "Slim Shady," wearing a hockey mask and carrying a chain saw -- which doesn't work. "We haven't perfected that yet," Espada joked Tuesday.
Details of the third doll were still in the works.
Each costs $9.99, and for $12.99 they come with a base. The dolls will be available at Tower Records and other specialty stores.
Jackie & amp; Mr. Bean
HOLLYWOOD -- Martial-arts meets Mr. Bean when Jackie Chan gets the Bean man himself, Rowan Atkinson, as his co-star in "The Highbinders."
The movie is described as a cross between "Lethal Weapon" and "Ghost." Chan plays a Chinese immigration officer who seems to get killed on an investigation but comes back to life with supernatural abilities, which he has to learn how to use against a group of smugglers. Atkinson would play Chan's British police partner.
The $35 million movie will be produced by Chan's Emperor Multimedia Group and directed by Reginald Hudlin ("The Ladies Man," "Joe's Apartment," "Servicing Sara").
Sandler's new pad
LOS ANGELES -- Actor Adam Sandler has purchased a Malibu home for $3.1 million.
The three-bedroom house was built in 1947 but was recently remodeled. The house also has three baths in 1,300 square feet. Sandler is also said to have a home in Bel-Air.
A graduate of NBC's "Saturday Night Live," the Brooklyn-born comic, 34, has starred in such movies as "Big Daddy" (1999), "The Waterboy" (1998) and "The Wedding Singer" (1998).
He was in Toronto earlier this year to do some voice work on his animated feature film "Whitey & amp; Davey," the first movie from his Meatball Animation company.
Besides making an estimated $20 million to star in a film, Sandler is producing a number of comedy scripts, and he has co-written others, including his hit "Happy Gilmore" (1996). Sandler also recorded four comedy albums.
Late actor's homegoes up for sale
LOS ANGELES -- The longtime, Windsor Square home of actor Richard Mulligan, who died in September at 67, has come on the market at just under $1.4 million.
Mulligan, known for his Emmy-winning comedic roles in the TV series "Empty Nest" and "Soap," had owned the home for more than 20 years.
The four-bedroom Spanish-style house is a short walk to Larchmont Village, where Mulligan often lunched and browsed through the shops.
Built in 1921, the 4,000-square-foot house has been restored and updated. It has 3.5 baths, a living room with a fireplace, a family room opening to a trellised patio, a kitchen with granite counters and a master suite with a steam shower and a fireplace.
Mulligan played Dr. Harry Weston, the widowed father of three grown daughters, in "Empty Nest," and he played Burt Campbell, the oddball husband in the soap opera spoof "Soap." During the '80s, he appeared in such movies as "S.O.B." with Julie Andrews, "The Trail of the Pink Panther" and "Micki and Maude."
