Judge to let man undergo evaluation



NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A Lawrence County judge has agreed to allow a man accused in the stabbing death of a 12-year-old Youngstown girl to undergo psychological evaluation.
Lawrence County District Attorney Matthew Mangino and William Monday's court-appointed attorney, Randall Hetrick, met Monday morning with Judge Dominick Motto.
Hetrick asked to hire a psychologist and a psychiatrist to evaluate his client.
Motto also agreed to allow Hetrick to hire a private investigator.
All bills will be paid by the county.
Monday, 21, of Struthers, Ohio, is accused of criminal homicide, criminal conspiracy to commit homicide, kidnapping, unlawful restraint, criminal conspiracy to commit rape and abuse of a corpse in the Oct. 8 death of Shannon Leigh Kos.
Monday, along with two other men accused of the same crime, Perry Ricciardi, 20, and David Garvey, 20, both also of Struthers, remain in jail without bond.
