SHIRLEY M. STAINFIELD, 90 Taught school in Andover, New Lyme



ANDOVER -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Baumgardner Funeral Home for Shirley M. Stainfield, 90, of 1400 Footville-Richmond Road, Lenox, formerly of Andover, who died Saturday at home.
Mrs. Stainfield was born March 28, 1910, in Andover, a daughter of George L. and Chloe Campbell Marvin, and was a lifelong area resident.
A 1928 graduate of Andover High School, she received a bachelor's degree in education from Mount Union College in 1933. She did graduate work at Kent State University.
She taught for more than 43 years in Andover, New Lyme and Pymatuning Valley school systems.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Andover, where she was chairperson of the official board. She also was a member of Richmond Grange, Andover Mardi Club, National Education Association, Northeast Ohio Teachers Association and Ashtabula County Retired Teachers Association, and was a member and former president of Delta Kappa Gamma Honorary Teachers Sorority.
Her husband, Neal R., whom she married Dec. 16, 1939, died Oct. 8, 1994.
She leaves a nephew, Roy A. Sr., with whom she made her home.
A brother, James W. Marvin, is deceased.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
