RAYMOND C. LINDSAY, 86



EAST PALESTINE -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home for Raymond C. Lindsay, 86, of 49689 state Route 14, who died Saturday evening at Salem Community Hospital after a short illness.
Mr. Lindsay was born Feb. 17, 1915, in East Palestine, a son of Harry and Lottie Kachner Lindsay. He was owner-operator of the Lindsay Dairy for 40 years, before retiring in 1980.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, New Springfield, and Grace Lutheran Church, East Palestine. He also was a member of East Palestine Masonic Lodge 417.
His wife, the former Lucy M. Elwonger, whom he married May 28, 1939, died July 20, 1998.
He leaves a daughter, Gayle L. Mort of Phoenix, Ariz; a son, the Rev. Dr. William L. of Dover, Pa.; a sister, Inez Knopp of East Palestine; and four grandchildren.
Two sisters, Esther Spear and Margaret Walker, and a brother, Clifford Greaves, are deceased.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
