Boy charged in theft
MERCER, Pa. -- State police have filed juvenile court charges against a 15-year-old boy accused of stealing money from Bell's Pet Supply at 580 Erie St.
Police said the store's video surveillance camera caught the boy stealing $250 from the store cash register on Thursday and an additional $90 on Friday.
The juvenile is charged with theft.
Nitrous oxide stolen
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- State police said someone cut the lock on a gate on an outdoor fenced-in storage area to steal two tanks of nitrous oxide from United Community Hospital, 631 N. Broad St. Ext.
The theft occurred between 2 and 4 a.m. Sunday, police said.
Once inside the fenced area, the intruder cut two more locks to remove the two four-foot tall tanks.
The tanks are blue and have a green placard saying "nonflammable gas" and the number 2, and a yellow placard with "oxidizer" written on it, as well as the name of the company that supplied them -- Medipure.
Man reports attack
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A New Castle man said he was attacked by three men on an East Side street.
Police said the man was looking for a friend's house early Saturday when three men approached him and wanted to fight.
The 24-year-old man told police one of the three hit him several times with the butt of a gun and he lost consciousness.
When he woke up, he drove home and had his wife take him to the hospital, he told police.
The man did not know the name of the street where the attack happened and could not describe the three men.
Driver cited
HILLSVILLE, Pa. -- A Hubbard driver was cited for not yielding to an oncoming car on U.S. Route 422. Pennsylvania State Police said Joshua L. Smith, 16, of John White Road pulled in front of Benjamin Pesce Jr., 69, of Rosanna Street, Ellwood City, at 11:45 a.m. Sunday. Police said Smith was pulling from the driveway of Highway Oil. Pesce was treated at Jameson Hospital. Smith and his passenger, Steven Brown, 17, of Struthers, were not injured, police said.
Delivery man robbed
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- A pizza delivery man was robbed of $120 at gunpoint. Police said the Little Johnny's Pizza driver was at a Main Street house around 8 p.m. Saturday when a gunman in a blue-hooded sweatsuit demanded his money. Police described the robber as 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build, in his late 30s or early 40s.
2 teens arrested
COLUMBIANA -- Police have arrested two area teen-agers believed to be responsible for several thousand dollars in property damage at various locations Saturday night. Police charged Jennifer Yoder, 18, of Columbiana and LeeAnn Thomas, 18, of North Lima with breaking windows and mirrors on seven vehicles at the Columbiana Buick-Olds-Cadillac dealership on East Railroad Street, damaging two soda machines at the Save-a-Lot on Fairfield Avenue and breaking windows on two pavilions in Firestone Park.
