PITTSBURGH -- The wedding of Dr. Uma Chapa, 514 Andorra Glen Court, Lafayette Hill, Pa., and Dr. Sriram C. Perni, 1500 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, took place at 11:47 a.m. March 3 at the Syria Temple.
Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Sukumar Chapa, 1 Marlin Place, Brookville, Pa., and Drs. V.C. and Lakshmi Perni, 2717 Arabian Lane, Hubbard.
Venkatachari Samudrala officiated at the Hindu ceremony, and the couple were honored afterward at a reception at the temple.
They spent their honeymoon in Costa Rica and are living in Philadelphia.
The bride wore a traditional Indian kanchivaram silk sari embroidered with gold and maroon motifs.
A graduate of Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, the bride is an obstetrician/gynecologist at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.
Her husband graduated from Youngstown State University and the Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He is also and obstetrician/gynecologist at the Medical College of Pennsylvania.
