Shepherd of the Valley Offers Advice to Peers

Shepherd of the Valley Offers Advice to Peers
Through Publication in National Trade Magazine
An article produced by Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Retirement Services, Inc. was recently featured in the national magazine, Assisted Living Today. JoAnne K. McCliment, director of community relations for Shepherd of the Valley, wrote the article, entitled & quot;Conquering Guilt. & quot;
Through the article, Marketing Directors Carole Moore and Sheryle Snow offer advice to their peers in the field of long-term care about how to help families deal with the emotional issues involved when admitting loved ones into assisted living homes. Moore, who is an 18-year veteran of the industry, oversees marketing and admissions at Shepherd's Howland site while Snow holds the same position at the company's Poland location.
Based upon a human-interest story that appeared in Shepherd of the Valley's newsletter last fall, & quot;Conquering Guilt & quot; is the company's second article to be accepted for publication in a national magazine in recent months. In November, Nursing Homes/Long-Term Care Management featured Shepherd's Zero-Lift Program, a story that John Guyot, publisher of the magazine, referred to as a & quot;fine contribution. & quot;
A second-year graduate student at YSU, McCliment has been published nationally a number of times and also writes on a free-lance basis.
