RICHARD E. PENMAN, 67



SHARPSVILLE, Pa. -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home in Sharon for Richard E. Penman, 67, of 3370 N. Hermitage Road, who died Friday afternoon in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh after a long illness.
Mr. Penman was born Jan. 3, 1934, in Punxsutawney, Pa., a son of Earl T. and Betty Hura Penman. He worked for Conrail in Pittsburgh and Ashtabula from 1979 to 1997. He was previously a helicopter instructor in Tehran, Iran for Bell Helicopter International and worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
He was a 20-year decorated Army veteran and served in the Vietnam War.
He attended St. Bartholomew Church, and enjoyed reading, fishing and cooking.
Among others, he leaves his wife, the former Nadia (Nancy) Wasiuta, whom he married May 12, 1978, two daughters, Natalie at home and Linda; two sons, Matthew R. at home and Rick in France; two brothers, Robert T. and James, both of Struthers; a half-brother, Edward Hura of LaMirada, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home.
