NHL ROUNDUP Saturday's other games

Avalanche 4, Bruins 2
BOSTON -- Ray Bourque's return to Boston got off to a rousing start and a victorious finish. In between, he and his Colorado Avalanche teammates struggled to stay ahead before beating the Bruins for their fifth straight win.
The two-minute, pre-game video tribute to Bourque had barely ended when Colorado scored as Joe Sakic tied a team record for fastest goal to start a game by connecting at nine seconds. Bourque assisted on goals by Dan Hinote and Chris Drury to boost the lead to 3-0 at 4:01 as Colorado, which leads the NHL in points, showed why Bourque has a solid chance of winning his first Stanley Cup in 22 NHL seasons.
The improbability of that happening in Boston was the reason he asked the Bruins to trade him in his 21st season with them.
Red Wings 6, Rangers 0
NEW YORK -- Chris Osgood made 24 saves for his 30th career shutout and six Red Wings scored as Detroit beat the Rangers, officially, knocking New York out of the playoffs for the fourth straight season. Nicklas Lidstrom, Brendan Shanahan, Martin Lapointe and Tomas Holmstrom each had a goal and an assist, Vyacheslav Kozlov and Mathieu Dandenault added goals, and defenseman Steve Duchesne had two assists for the Red Wings, who took 47 shots. New York, which has been playing out the string for a while, allowed two first-period goals and four in the second in dropping to 28-40-5-1.
Blues 5, Blackhawks 1
ST. LOUIS -- Al MacInnis and Pierre Turgeon each had a goal and two assists, while Roman Turek made 22 saves for his first win in nearly a month.
The victory was just the Blues' second in their last 12 games. It was the first win for St. Louis at Savvis Center since it beat San Jose 7-2 on Feb. 26 -- the last time Turek won. After allowing four goals on 20 shots in an overtime loss to the Islanders on Tuesday, Turek shut out the Blackhawks for two periods before allowing a goal to Jean-Yves Leroux at 2:02 of the third period. Turek also recorded his first point when picked up an assist on MacInnis' goal.
Sabres 3, Hurricanes 1
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Stu Barnes and Erik Rasmussen scored on consecutive third-period shots and led the Buffalo Sabres over the Carolina Hurricanes. Miroslav Satan's empty-net goal with 10 seconds left sealed it for Buffalo (41-27-5-1), fifth in the Eastern Conference standings, which moved five points ahead of idle sixth-place Pittsburgh. Doug Gilmour, who set up Rasmussen's eventual game-winner, recorded his 1,339th career point, moving him into 16th on the NHL's list, one ahead of Denis Savard. Carolina's Dave Karpa scored when his point blast went in through a screen to foil Dominik Hasek's shutout bid with 4:01 remaining.
Mighty Ducks 3, Kings 3
LOS ANGELES -- Oleg Tverdovsky scored with 7:09 left in the third period to help lift the Anaheim Mighty Ducks to a tie. Tverdovsky extended his consecutive games played streak to 284 despite a concussion suffered in Wednesday night's game against Dallas. His streak is the second-longest in the NHL behind Chicago's Tony Amonte. Pascal Trepanier and German Titov scored for Anaheim during a 3:02 span of the second period. Captain Paul Kariya failed to get a point for the fourth consecutive game, his longest drought of the season. Ziggy Palffy scored twice on power plays and Jaroslav Modry also scored for the Kings, who started the day tied with Phoenix for the final Western Conference playoff berth.
Thrashers 3, Canadiens 2
MONTREAL -- Steve Guolla scored the go-ahead goal in the third period and added two assists as Atlanta rallied from a two-goal deficit. Hnat Domenichelli also had a goal and two assists for Atlanta, which beat Montreal for the first time in eight meetings. Jeff Odgers also scored for the Thrashers, who won for the first time in 39 games this season when trailing after two periods (1-32-5-1). Martin Rucinsky and Richard Zednik scored for Montreal, which is 1-5-2-1 in its last nine games. The Canadiens, who led 2-0 after the first period, went 1-for-7 on the power play against the league's worst penalty-killing unit. Odgers got the comeback started when he put in Domenichelli's rebound at 7:54 of the second to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Maple Leafs 5, Flyers 3
TORONTO -- Yanic Perreault had a goal and an assist to lead the Toronto Maple Leafs over the Philadelphia Flyers.
Mats Sundin, Igor Korolev, Aki Berg and Darcy Tucker also scored for the Maple Leafs, who played the Flyers for the first time since a possible deal for Eric Lindros fell through. Mark Recchi scored two third-period goals for the Flyers, who almost overcame a 4-1 deficit. Tucker scored an empty-netter with one second left. Toronto's Danny Markov had two assists after missing the previous 22 games with back problems.
Capitals 3, Lightning 2
TAMPA, Fla. -- Steve Konowalchuk scored the go-ahead goal on a power play with 4:19 left in the third period as the Washington Capitals snapped a five-game losing streak. Konowalchuk scored on a rebound during a goal-mouth scramble after goalie Kevin Weekes stopped Ulf Dahlen's back-hander. Peter Bondra had a goal and an assist for the Southeast Division-leading Capitals, who overcame an early two-goal deficit. Bondra has 35 goals and 45 points in 37 career games against Tampa Bay.
Goals by Ben Clymer and Fredrik Modin, coming on Tampa Bay's first three shots against Washington backup goaltender Craig Billington, made it 2-0.
