Fibromyalgia courses
AUSTINTOWN -- The Arthritis Foundation of Northeast Ohio will offer a self-help course for fibromyalgia sufferers on Thursdays from April 5 through May 17. The cost is $35, with sessions from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at The Vista Center, Lisbon, or 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Austinwoods Rehabilitation Center, Austintown.
The seven weekly classes teach people with fibromyalgia, a chronic condition characterized by muscle pain and fatigue, how to be more active in their health care. It includes information about pain control, relaxation, exercise, doctor-patient relationships, fatigue and depression. Registration is required before April 1. Visualization program
VILLA MARIA, Pa. -- EverGreen and Villa Maria Sister Services will be hosts of "Creative Visualization for Body, Mind and Spirit" at 6:30 p.m. April 5 at the Villa Maria Community Center as part of Complementary Health Services. Teleconference on loss
WARREN -- "Caregiving and Loss: Family Needs, Professional Responses" is the title of the eighth annual live teleconference by the Hospice Foundation of America. Selby-Cole Funeral Home Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna, will sponsor the free program from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. April 18 at the Avalon Inn. Red Cross training
WARREN -- The American Red Cross, Trumbull County Chapter, is offering a training program at its Warren office. "Workplace Training: Standard First Aid With Automated External Defibrillator" is from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 7. The cost is $40.
Blood-pressure checks
YOUNGSTOWN -- Blood-pressure screening will be available in the area April 3, including at the Brookfield Library from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Liberty Library from 1 to 3 p.m. and at Beeghly Immediate Care from 2 to 4 p.m.
