Local woman attends conference

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Chloe Williams of Warren, National District Council member and member of Ponti-Peterson VFW Auxiliary 1720, attended the VFW Auxiliary National Conference held March 15-18 in Orlando.
Patricia Jankowski of Garden City, Mich., the organization's national president, presented its Better World Award to actor Bruce Weitz. Weitz is the 1984 recipient of an Emmy Award for best supporting actor in a drama series for his portrayal of Belker on "Hill Street Blues." He is honorary chairman of the National PTA's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program, and his national "Write Bruce" campaign produced over 13,000 anonymous letters from young people helping the PTA understand teen-age users' experiences leading to stronger programs.
