Killer is treated at hospital after scuffle
WARREN -- Scott Burrows, 20, convicted of killing an elderly Hubbard Township couple, was taken to a local hospital for stitches after a scuffle with Trumbull County Jail guards.
Sheriff's department reports state Burrows, sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murders of Dorothy and Charles London, began arguing with jail guards shortly after midnight Wednesday.
The jail guards asked Burrows to sit on his bunk and Burrows started to move toward the officers in an "aggressive manner," reports state.
The jail guards stated in the report that they were able to get Burrows to the ground and handcuff him. One of the jail guards broke his finger during the scuffle, reports state. Burrows got a cut on his forehead and was taken to a hospital for stitches, jail officials said.
Burrows was transferred to the jail from Lucasville Correctional Institution three weeks ago in case he was needed to testify in the trial of his co-defendant Mark Worley, officials said.
Worley, 22, was convicted last week for the murder of Charles London and the aggravated murder of Dorothy London. A jury recommended that Worley be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. A judge is scheduled to sentence Worley today.
