ANTIONETTE STAS, 79



AUSTINTOWN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Austintown Community United Church of Christ for Antionette Stas, 79, of 178 S. Main St., who died Thursday morning in Mahoning Valley Select Specialty Hospital.
Mrs. Stas was born Oct. 23, 1921, in Youngstown, a daughter of Anthony and Carmel Zappitella Arcaro. She lived in this area all her life.
She was a welder during World War II at Truscon Steel Division of Republic Steel, and later worked for Strouss' Department Store, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of the church and its Christ Care Group, served lunches at the church to the Kiwanis Club, and helped in the church's Need Room. She had also been active in the Couple's West Side Bowling League.
Her husband, Andrew Jr., whom she married July 6, 1946, died July 26, 1995.
She leaves a daughter, Laura Kupec of Youngstown; a son, Andrew A. III of Boardman; three sisters, Mary Opincar, Ann Paloci and Virginia Benedetto-Boldt, all of Austintown; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Two sisters, Angeline Moyer and Christina Arcaro, and two brothers, Donald and Michael Arcaro, are deceased.
Friends may call at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. today, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
