RUTH M. BYRD, 69

WARREN -- Services will be at noon Friday in North-Mar Christian & amp; Missionary Alliance Church for Ruth M. Byrd, 69, of 340 Vine St. N.E., who died of cancer Tuesday afternoon at home.
Mrs. Byrd was born March 12, 1932, in Warren, a daughter of William H. and Leona Newman Drummond, and was a lifelong area resident.
She was a housekeeper for St. Joseph Health Center before retiring in 1990. She also cleaned for the Boy Scouts of America office.
She was a member of the church and enjoyed cooking and crocheting.
She leaves a daughter, Diane Daykins of Warren; two sisters, Mabel Schneider of Warren and Joan Christopher of Southington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Four sisters, Mary Thigpen, Peggy Bilovesky, Betty Dorsey and Dorothy Roberts; and two brothers, Lawrence and Gaylord Drummond, are deceased.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hall Funeral Home and one hour before the service Friday in the church.
