BOARDMAN -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rossi Bros. Funeral Home for Robert L. Evans Sr., 87, of 880 Ewing Road, who died early Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown.
Mr. Evans was born June 29, 1913, in Youngstown, a son of John and Jane Curl Evans.
He retired in 1968 as a blast furnace foreman at Republic Steel Corp., where he worked 36 years. He also had worked at Strouss' Department Store for 10 years and retired in 1978.
Besides his wife, the former Rose Marie Bailiff, whom he married Feb. 10, 1940, he leaves a son, Robert L. Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; a daughter, Elizabeth J. Gillam-Davis, with whom he made his home in Boardman; a brother, Phillip of Long Beach; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Six brothers, Richard, Myron, Marshall, Warren, Edward and Charles Evans; three sisters, Nancy Osman, Doris Metzler and Edna Graham; and a grandchild are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
