Dynatek Telecommunications Services is a Youngstown-based company owned by Steve Palac of Vienna, a Howland High graduate.
Dynatek has offices in Atlanta, Denver, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, Scranton and Allentown.
The company provides services to wireless communications carriers throughout the country in the wireless, cable and fiber-optic industries.
Dynatek manages and executes all aspects of the design, development and construction of a telecommunications network.
A LOOK AT WP MOTORSPORTSDynatek sponsors a car-racing team called WP motorsports, which will field cars this year on both the ARCA circuit and Busch Grand National Series.
The team's owners are Palac, Charles Woodruff, Darin Pinkham and Scott Pinkham, the latter three from Sturgis, Ky. Palac is the car owner. Woodruff oversees the operation.
Mike Swaim Jr. of High Point, N.C., is the driver. Swaim is the only driver to win three straight poles at Daytona International Speedway in 1996, 1997 and 1998 at the Goody's Dash Series. He had eight ARCA starts in 2000, with two top-five finishes and four top-10 performances.
WP's current car is a Chevrolet Monte Carlo with an SB2 Chevrolet engine, 750 horsepower, 9,000 RPM, 22-gallon fuel capacity and 110-inch wheel base. Weight is 3,400 pounds.
WP motorsports is a sponsor of the Hunter's Hope Foundation, and sponsors many of the HHF fund-raisers and provides awareness of the life-threatening disease, Krabbe Leukodystrophy. The disease has afflicted many children, including Hunter James Kelly, son of Jim and Jill Kelly. The foundation is named for Hunter. Jim Kelly is a retired Buffalo Bills quarterback. WP donates a percentage of sponsorships and winnings back to the foundation.
