DEERFIELD -- Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Alliance, for Donald T. Sampson Sr., 87, of 2041 Bonner Road, Deerfield, who died Sunday night at home.
Mr. Sampson was born Sept. 20, 1913, in Mottown, Ohio, a son of William and Lottie Jenkins Sampson, and lived in Deerfield most of his life.
He graduated in 1932 from Deerfield High School and retired in 1978 from Wean United of Youngstown, where he was a machinist.
He was a member of Palmyra United Methodist Church, Deerfield Charity Masonic Lodge 530, Palmy Chapter Order of the Eastern Star 114 and the Deerfield Dandies.
He leaves his wife, the former Dorothy Myers, whom he married March 22, 1937; two sons, Donald Jr. of Deerfield and Richard of Marlboro, Ohio; a brother, William of Alliance; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the church.
