ROBERT RUSSELL KNOEDLER, 86



SALEM -- Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stark Memorial Funeral Home for Robert Russell Knoedler, 86, of 1255 E. 11th St., who died Saturday evening at home after a long illness.
Mr. Knoedler was born March 9, 1915, in Salem, a son of William F. and Alta Stamp Knoedler. He worked in the timekeeping department for E.W. Bliss Co. for 15 years and was a parts manager for Salona Supply.
A 1934 graduate of Goshen High School, he was a member of Damascus United Methodist Church and Salem Elks Lodge 395, a charter member of Damascus Ruritan and Damascus Historical Society, and a former member of Goshen Township Civil Defense Unit. He was a World War II Army military policeman.
His first wife, the former Geraldine Cummings, died June 7, 1961.
Besides his wife, the former Betty Alexander, whom he married Nov. 10, 1967, he leaves a son, David of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepson, Jeff Dowd of Stow; two stepdaughters, Cynthia Buckman of Salem and Deborah Heal of Wexford, Pa.; a brother, Leland of Salem; and six grandchildren.
A brother, Drexel, and a sister, Bernice Powell, are deceased.
There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to Goshen Alumni Association, Damascus.
