RICHARD E. AMMONS, 58
WARREN -- Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at McFarland & amp; Son Funeral Home for Richard E. Ammons, 58, of Horizon Village Nursing & amp; Rehabilitation Center, who died of cancer Saturday evening in the nursing home.
Mr. Ammons was born Aug. 24, 1942, in Windham, a son of Allen and Gertrude Seburn Ammons. He was a truck driver for Landstar Poole and Scheider National Carriers and was inducted into the Million Mile Hall of Fame in February 1997. He previously had worked for Morris Lumber in Vienna and Fiest Hardwoods in Newton Falls.
Besides his wife, the former Carol Spade, whom he married July 6, 1963, he leaves a daughter, Gertrude Ammons of Warren; two brothers, Jud of Travers City, Mich., and Robert J. of Howland; three sisters, Lois Geiwitz of Sharpsville, Dolly Klug of Howland and Patty Sabo of Brookfield; and three grandchildren.
A sister, Mary Belden, and a brother, Jesse, are deceased.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and one hour before services at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown 44512.
